2016 Volleyball Recruiting Class Grows with Lujan

Sky Lujan from Caldwell, Idaho will be competing for the Barclay College Bear’s volleyball team this coming fall. Even though Lujan stands at 5’4″, she was a full rotational player for Greenleaf Friends Academy last year.

Head coach Larry Lewis concluded about Lujan,”I’m looking forward to coaching Sky because of her strong fundamental skills, work ethic, desire to improve and Christian character.”

During her high school years, Lujan was extremely active and celebrated at both Greenleaf Friends Academy and Caldwell Friends Church. She was her class salutatorian and a member of the National Honor Society, choir and band. In addition to playing volleyball, she also played basketball, softball and track. She has participated in local and overseas missions trips, youth group and was a member of the worship team. Other awards earned include: “Helicopter” award for jumping ability, Most Inspirational in music, GFA Music Spirit award and the esteemed “Ambassador for Christ” award.

In response to why she chose Barclay College, Lujan stated, “I want a smaller community that is Christ-centered where I can pursue my dream of being a leader for Christ.”

She plans to major in Psychology and Family Studies with a minor in Youth Ministry.
