Detiege Transfers to Barclay College

Clifford Detiege of San Antonio, Texas has decided to transfer to Barclay College for the upcoming school year. The 6’4″ Detiege spent last year at Crossroads College (Rochester, Minn.) as a red-shirt before deciding to move on.

Head coach Royce Bryan said, “Adding Clifford to the team not only has the potential to help us in the 2016-17 season, but also for several years beyond that. Plus we are getting a guy who seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders.”

Deteige is a 2014 graduate of Rick Hawkins High School (San Antonio). As a senior at Rick Hawkins he averaged 14.2 points per game, 11.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals while being named to the District 28-AAA 1st Team. After a solid high school career, he committed to attend Grace University (Omaha, Neb.). While playing for the Royals he averaged 5.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

“Barclay College seems like a college that believes in my vision and what I want to do for the community,” concluded Detiege. “I feel that this college can mold me into a beneficial, Godly servant leader. In addition, playing basketball for a great program and using my leadership to bring impact is also what I want to do. I can’t wait to be apart of the Barclay College Bears and the Haviland community.”

Detiege plans to major in Elementary Education while at Barclay College.
