Eltringham Commits to Barclay

In early June, Courtney Eltringham, a 5’6″ setter, announced her plans to transfer to Barclay College from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri for the 2016-17 academic year. The addition of Eltringham continues to bolster a strong recruiting class for head coach Larry Lewis and his staff.

In high school, Eltringham was instrumental in her team’s success. She helped lead her team to a National Christian Home School Division IV volleyball championship in both 2014 and 2015. In addition, she earned 2015 MVP and all-conference 1st team Southwest Christian Conference accolades.

“I appreciate her sweet spirit and desire to represent the Lord in everything she does,” commented Lewis. “She understands the game and has the fundamental skills to help our hitters. The addition of another setter will allow us flexibility to try different rotations, and continue to grow our team chemistry.”

Eltringham was drawn to Barclay because of the exciting opportunity to play volleyball, the Christian environment, the smaller campus and being close to her grandparents. She plans on majoring in Psychology and Family Studies.
