Franklin Joins Brothers at BC

Last week D’Andre Franklin decided to join the Barclay College family and be a part of the men’s basketball team. The 5’8″ point guard graduated from Wichita Southeast High School (Kans.) in the spring and has a great upside according to head coach Royce Bryan.

“The first thing that comes to mind is that he’s a bulldog out there on the court,” said Bryan. “He also seems to be really coachable and is hungry to grow and improve both on and off the court.”

Franklin, a four year starter on the Golden Buffaloes boys basketball team, helped lead them to the Kansas State High School Activities Association 6A championship game as a senior. Even though they came up a little short, the runner-ups finished with an impressive 18-4 record. Franklin contributed 8.5 points, 4 steals, and 5 assists per game. Last fall you would have also seen him playing cornerback and safety for the Golden Buffaloes football team.

Franklin will be a sports and recreation ministry major and is joined by two of his brothers on the men’s basketall team.
