Lady Bears Get Remington HS Athlete

Hannah Thornburg signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Barclay College next year on July 19. Head coach Marcus Mitchell and his staff continue to solidify their roster by adding the 5’7″ guard.

“We are excited to have Hannah join our team next year,” Mitchell exclaimed. “Hannah is coachable and she does the little things that do not show up on the stat sheet. I have no doubt she will be a great teammate and she will be an asset to the college.”

Thornburg was instrumental in leading the Broncos of Remington High School (Whitewater, Kans.) deep into the Kansas playoffs as a senior and looks to bring the same leadership and winning ways to the Lady Bears. She also participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, student council, Young Adult Advisory Council Library and Teen Mentoring Issues while at Remington High.

Barclay College is no stranger to the Thornburg name. She follows in the footsteps of several family members that have come to BC and hopes her experience is as good as theirs. Most importantly, she hopes to deepen her walk with Christ as she begins a new phase of her life. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
