The season began with high expectations based on the year before, and the number of experienced returning players. However, life has a tendency to get in the way of even the best laid plans. Marriages, injuries, and a few other unforeseen issues zapped the Lady Bears of most of that returning experience. We had some really debilitating circumstances at the beginning of the year that set us back quite a bit. It is easy to say that a team and a coach can just brush that adversity aside and keep plugging along, but, as this year’s team learned, it was a tough climb. We completely changed what we were doing offensively and relied on the great defensive principles Coach Ballard worked on throughout the season to forge a new identity. The way the ladies came together as a team, competitively and from a chemistry standpoint, was really fun to watch.”

 Go Lady Bears!!!

The 2011-12 edition of the Barclay College Lady Bears was quite a ride.
