We are excited that Alyssa Swonger has chosen to attend Barclay College. \u00a0Coach Lewis believes that there is very good volleyball talent in our local area and he is hoping that this is just the beginning of more homegrown recruits coming to Barclay. \u00a0Alyssa attended Pratt Skyline High School, where she had the opportunity to compete at the state tournament 3 of her 4 years. \u00a0Alyssa is 6\u2019 tall and played right side and middle for her high school and club team (Wichita Chaos). \u00a0Her junior year, she was all-league, and her senior year, she was a unanimous selection for all league. \u00a0During her senior season, she was the best blocker, hitter and passer on her team. \u00a0Alyssa chose Barclay, because it is close to family, a wonderful environment, and she felt it was her best option. \u00a0Coach Lewis said, \u201cAlyssa is a game changer! \u00a0It\u2019s been quite a while since Barclay has had the height it will have this season. \u00a0She has worked hard to improve her overall game, and is now able to play the full rotation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
