\u201cFollowing in the footsteps of some of his friends who have played for Barclay, Drew will join the Bears this fall. \u00a0Drew is an experienced keeper who played for Wichita Heights and Fury United FC. \u00a0Drew will provide a solid base for our defense and will help to launch our offense as he utilizes his skill and experience to essentially become an additional field player,\u201d said head coach Kevin Lee. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Overcast, the nephew of Barclay professor Kayleen Stephens, was an All-Elko County player for in Nevada. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cGodoy is a humble, yet effective and respected defender who was also a standout as an all-district keeper,\u201d said Coach Lee. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Calicchia has been a starter for an AAA premiere team in Canada. \u00a0He was first team all-conference, first team all-county, and first team all-region. Coach Lee stated that \u201cJustin is very quick. He plays with great awareness, and has sharp technical skills.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cGaret has played all over the field, and did quite well as a keeper,\u201d commented Coach Lee. \u201cHis speed, ball control, and ability to finish will make him a very effective winger.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Ben Priebe Priebe is a dual sport student athlete playing basketball and soccer. \u00a0He played right back for a very successful Rose Hill High School team that finished as the 4A runner-up his senior season. He was honorable mention all-league as a senior as well. \u201cBen is a big guy who is very agile, he plays tough and clean, and will be a great target player on set pieces,\u201d said Coach Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Isaac Burnett \u201cIsaac is an incredible athlete, and a Heartland Games champion,\u201d commented Coach Lee. \u201cHe will bring his competitive edge to help inspire the team to do their absolute best for the glory of God.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Name: Mason Vang \u201cAlthough Mason is walking on,\u201d said Coach Lee, \u201cit appears that he was born to play soccer. He has an incredible ability to win the ball, and a seemingly unending supply of energy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Preston Hall \u201cPreston has the size and savvy to be a great defender,\u201d said Coach Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Paul Stovall \u201cPaul, a basketball player, has picked up soccer while helping his brother prepare to play college soccer,\u201d explained Coach Lee. \u201cPaul is quick and has good instincts.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Name: Shawn Richardson Coach Lee said, \u201cShawn is a ball winner and another player with great instincts for the game.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Jared Westler Jared could very likely be the tallest soccer player our league has ever seen. \u00a0\u201cJared is good at using his height to his advantage and causes problems for offensive players who can\u2019t seem to get around his strong, long legs,\u201d said Coach Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n Name: Jordan Daniels Coach Lee said, \u201cJordan is a hard-working guy and has good size that will be put to good use.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The next home game will be\u00a0October 9 against\u00a0Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa) at 6 p.m.\u00a0It will be the Bears final home game of the season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" With only two returning players from last year, a green Bears soccer team\u00a0has already managed to accumulate\u00a0five\u00a0wins, with\u00a0three of those five wins being\u00a0shutouts.
