Tuesday night the Lady Bears had a rematch with the Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, Kans.). The teams played a competitive game in late January that saw the Thunder mount a big second half comeback to pull out a 4 point win, 72-76.<\/p>\n
The Bears were locked in on Senior night at Hockett Auditorium. Even though they were a little slow coming out of the gate, a 19-0 run gave them a commanding lead. The Thunder, however, were not ready to go down easy and with good outside shooting went on a\u00a010-0 run of their own to take the lead at halftime, 30-31.\u00a0The 2nd<\/sup> half was all Barclay. The Bears outscored the Thunder 20-9 in the 3rd<\/sup> quarter and 14-8 in the 4th<\/sup> to secure\u00a0the 64-48 win.<\/p>\n \u201cWenger and Zarzutski really hurt us at their place,” said head coach Ryan Kendall. “We knew we had to keep them in check to be able to win tonight, and we did that well, frustrating them into a tough shooting night.” The Thunder shot just 31% from the filed while the Bears hit 28 shots off 24 assists.<\/p>\n Kendall was thrilled with many phases of the game. He was excited with how well the Bears passed the ball and how willingly they made the extra pass for an even better shot.\u00a0He added,”we also cut our turnovers in half from the previous time we played them. That\u2019s been our downfall in several games this year. So it was nice to take care of the ball.\u201d<\/p>\n On Senior night, it was none other than the seniors of the Lady Bears that carried the load. Senior RaeLyn Epp (Corn, Okla.) led the team in scoring with 25 points including 3 trifectas\u00a0and 4 steals. Senior Shandy Edenborough (Goodwell, Okla.) scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for yet another double-double. Senior Katelyn Ogle (Haviland, Kans.) was once again a defensive presence and bundle of energy for the Bears.
