Junior College Point Guard Joins BC

Lex Pena has decided to transfer to Barclay College this fall after finishing his associates degree at Jamestown Community College (Jamestown, N.Y.) this summer.

Pena has been in attendance at Jamestown for the last two years. He graduated from Osceola High School (Osceola, Fla.) in 2012 and then attended one year of prep school. While at prep school he averaged 17 points, six assists, and two steals per game. While at Jamestown, Pena averaged three points per game in a back-up role.

“Lex comes to Barclay hungry to compete but to also grow as a man,” said head coach Royce Bryan. “I believe he was looking for an opportunity to be in a Christ-centered environment while being able to do something he loves to do, and that’s to play basketball. He found both of those here and we are excited about what the future holds both for him and for the team.”

Ramon and Gregoria Pena are his parents.
