Lady Bears Split In Missouri

Barclay College traveled to Missouri last weekend for two conference games against Calvary Bible College (Belton, MO) and Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO). The Lady Bears came up with a split on the weekend and their conference record is 2-2 after the weekend.

On Friday night the Lady Bears took on the Calvary Lady Warriors. Even though Calvary Bible has one of the toughest environments to play in, the Lady Bears took an early lead which they were able to hold onto for most of the game. The Lady Bears ultimately prevailed 67-62.

On Saturday the Lady Bears traveled south for a contest with Ozark Christian College. The game was a back and forth affair with the Ambassadors holding a narrow advantage at halftime. In the second half, the Bears couldn’t quite get over the top as Ozark pulled away late with some free throws to win 67-59.

“I thought we did some good things this weekend. One thing this team needs to do is to learn how to close out games. We did that against Calvary and we struggled against Ozark. We are young and still learning that we have to play with great effort in every area of the game for the entire game,” commented Head Coach Brad Lingafelter.

The Lady Bears next action is Saturday at 2:00 PM CST in Moberly, MO against MCCC opponent Central Christian College of the Bible.
