Bears get above .500 with an MCCC win in Manhattan
Barclay Men’s Soccer team was able to secure a win against Manhattan Christian College in an MCCC that moves the Bears to 5-4-2 on the year and a 3-2-1 record in conference. The Bears are peaking at the right time as the regular season draws to a close in the coming weeks. The Bears have only one remaining MCCC matchup against Ozark Christian College meaning they have secured a .500 conference winning percentage for the season. The Bears are back playing on Friday, 10/9, against NCCAA foe Ecclesia College in a game at 4:00 in Haviland.
Goals were scored by Kieran May, Danielberg Tavares, Eduardo Amaro, and two goals were scored by Matheus Lepera Moraes. The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half before MCC was able to score their lone goal in the 40th minute. This was immediately answered by Barclay as the halftime score was 4-1. Barclay was able to play shut out defense the entire second half and finished the game with a fifth goal in the second half as well.
