Men’s Basketball Serves in CO

This year’s Fall Break was much more than a break for members of the men’s basketball team. On Thursday, October 15, a representation of the team reconvened for a trip to Colorado. They did volunteer work at Camp Quaker Ridge near Woodland Park on Friday, helped feed and clothe the homeless in downtown Denver on Saturday and then participated in the Sunday morning service at Northwest Friends Church, now doing business as Neighborhood Friends Church, in Arvada.

“It was really an amazing weekend,” explained head coach Royce Bryan. “We were able to help a lot of people and to see how God can use us to make a difference. Plus we were able to grow closer together as a team.”

The Bears hope this experience will spill onto the court as they begin preparation for their first game quickly approaching on October 30. They will travel to Arkansas to take on Ecclesia College (Springdale) and then will take on John Brown University (Siloam Springs) the following day to kick off the 2015 season.
