NCCAA D2 Player of the Week to Lady Bear’s Epp

The NCCAA Division II Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 3, 2014 is the Lady Bear’s Sophomore point guard from Corn, OK, RaeLyn Epp. She has exemplified the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA and has been rewarded for her accomplishments for the preceding week.

Epp went 10-14 from the field on Friday in the Lady Bears’s 88-81 win over Dallas Christian, including 5-5 from three and 8-10 from the free throw line. In addition, she had 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. Twenty-five of her thirty-three points came in the second half alone to lead the Bears to victory. On Saturday she followed up her stellar performance with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals on 43 percent shooting against Grace University. Her weekend averages were 24.5 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 4 steals on 57 percent shooting from the field (8-12 from three) in two wins.

Upon hearing the news, Head Coach Brad Lingafelter was ecstatic and said, “The NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week is a great honor for RaeLyn. She certainly earned it with her fantastic weekend in two big wins for us. She is a special player, and I am very proud of her as a player and a person.”
