NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week to Assibey

On Monday, November 4th, the NCCAA announced Sophomore Kingsley Assibey as the Student Athlete of the Week recipient from October 28th-November 2nd. It was the second time this season Assibey as received the honor.

Last Tuesday, October 29th, Assibey scored one goal and added an assist in the Bears 5-0 road win over conference foe Calvary Bible College (Belton, MO). Then on Friday in the first round of the Southwest Regionals, Assibey scored two key goals against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist (Moore, OK)  to boost the Bears to the region finals and a chance for a birth to the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. He followed that performance with another goal in the region finals against Dallas Christian College (Dallas, TX). Even though it was in a losing effort, Assibey, put constant pressure on the Crusader defense, including a bicycle kick that was called offsides.

The four goals and one assist for the week helped push him into the BC record books for goals in a season as he finished the year with 24 goals in 18 games.
