Senior Brodhead Recognized by NCCAA

Every Tuesday afternoon, the National Christian College Athletics Association releases recipients of the Student-Athlete of the Week. This week Barclay College’s senior, Charles Brodhead (Lompoc, Calif.), was named the NCCAA Division II SAW winner. It is his second time to be recognized as the SAW winner this season.

Last week Brodhead averaged a double, double with 25 points per game, 11.67 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals against two NCCAA top 10 teams (Moore, Okla.’s #1 Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College  and #10 Ozark Christian College out of Joplin, Mo.) and Calvary Bible College (Belton, Mo.). He kept the Bears within striking distance until late in the second half in a road loss to Hillsdale (90-107) by going for 31 points on 57 percent shooting from the floor, which included 3-5 from three point range and 12 rebounds. Then, last Friday Brodhead scored 11 points, dished out 6 assists, and grabbed 6 rebounds in just 18 minutes of action to help beat Calvary 95-53. He followed up that on Saturday with a 33 point and 17 rebound performance. He was 13-18 shooting (3-4 from three) from the field in a tightly contested win against Ozark (105-100).
