Transition Doesn’t Slow Bears Soccer
Just one year removed from a national tournament appearance for the Barclay College soccer program, the Bears were in need of new leadership for the program after Kevin Lee stepped down last spring. The Bears turned to former players Austin Ogle and Pilo Miranda-Troup to lead the way.
In what was expected to be a building year for the program, the Bears were still able to post an 8-7 record overall, including a 4-2 record in the Midwest Christian College Conference. The season was highlighted by a huge come-from-behind win at Lincoln Christian College (Lincoln, Ill.) on Sept. 9th.
Recruiting is now the name of the game for Ogle and Miranda-Troup. With their first season on their belts, continued growth will depend on consistent and improved recruiting classes to compliment a core group of returners.
