Another TX Recruit Commits to Men’s Basketball

Another Paris, TX recruit in Jaqualion “Jay” Milton has committed to transfer to Barclay College for the Fall semester. Milton spent the 2013-14 year at a Tyler Junior College as a red-shirt and comes to Barclay with four years of eligibility.

Milton graduated from 3A Paris High School in 2013 where he was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to back-to-back Area Runner-Ups. As a junior the Wildcats went 26-7 while Milton picked up 2nd Team All-District 13 and All Red River County honors. His senior year he was 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All Red River County in leading the Wildcats to a 22-9 record. His defensive prowess and his 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists paved the way for him participating in the Element of Champion All-Star Game in Dallas, TX and the Scouts Focus All-American Game in Charlottsville, VA.

“To get someone of Jay’s character and athletic ability this late in the recruiting game is extremely fortunate,” said Head Coach Royce Bryan. “We hope to play a part in continuing to sharpen Jay athletically, academically and spiritually while he is here at Barclay.”

He is the son of Tammie Wright and Vernon Milton.
