Barclay College Obtains NCCAA Membership for 2012-13

“On behalf or our 110 member institutions and over 13,000 student-athletes, welcome to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA),” were the words from the association in an acceptance letter written on May 7, 2012.

The acceptance letter also stated, “the NCCAA offers a very distinct option to its members. As the only mission-fit intercollegiate association for today’s Christ-centered colleges and universities, the NCCAA should not be viewed as an equal or even a competitor with the NCAA or the NAIA. Although you will find our championship competition to be of a very high standard, the clear difference of the NCCAA will be the Christian Service Projects conducted within our National Championships, the availability of sports ministry funding for our membership, and the Christian felllowship at championships and the Annual Convention. Your student-athletes will be challenged and blessed by giving of themselves to local communities and youth prior to competing. These projects allow us to reaffirm that the cross of Christ still has the priority over any banners we may win.”

The Bears will be a part of the Southwest Region which includes Hillsdale Baptist (Moore, OK), Ozark Christian (Joplin, MO), Dallas Christian (Dallas, TX), and Arlington Baptist (Arlington, TX).
