BC Volleyball Takes on Tigers

McPherson, KS – On Tuesday, October 2nd, Bears Volleyball made the short commute to McPherson, KS to take on the NAIA Tigers of Central Christian College.

The Bears started out very slow and were unable to get into a grow before the Tigers ran away with a 25-12 first set victory. In the second set, however, the Bears were ready to play and took an early lead amidst some long rallies. Eventually the Tigers capitalized on some free balls and took the second set as well, 25-19. Midway through the third set, the Bears found themselves down 13-6 before they made a huge run to pull within 15-17 behind some hard serving and kills. Once again the Tigers proved to be a little too much and finished off the match by winning the third set 25-19.

Junior Sarah Sullivan (San Antonio, TX) and Sophomore Megan Eby (Arlington, KS) led the Bears with eight kills apiece. Sophomore Dani Gressel (New Haven, KS) and Freshman Courtney Gillaspy (Medina, TX) had 12 digs each to help the Bears defensively.

The Bears (3-11, 1-5) will take this weekend off and will be back in action against MCCC first place and nationally ranked Manhattan Christian on Tuesday, October 9th.
