Bears Soccer Signs Three for 2014

Head Coach Kevin Lee and his coaching staff continue to build on their 2014 recruiting class by signing three more recruits over the holiday season.

David Kearns, the son of Darin and Shelda Cay Kearns, has signed with the Bears. Kearns has played many positions on the field as a varsity starter for Eudora High School, KS.

“David is a solid recruit for Barclay,” said Coach Lee. “He is a man of faith who loves and follows Jesus, he excels academically, and he is a tough competitor with great potential.”

In addition, the Bears were able to sign two players from Morton Ranch High School in Katy, TX . Midfielder Carlos Aguilar and defender Isaiah Shine, both were high school teammates of BC’s Melvin Lara, decided to join Lara and play for the Bears next Fall.

Shine, son of Troyveka Shine, was selected 1st Team-All District as a Senior and played a pivotal role in his high school team finishing their 2012 season as state runner-ups.

Coach Lee stated, “Isaiah is a rightback with tons of speed which will create multiple problems for our opponents.” “Carlos, on the other hand, played varsity ball for a talented high school team, and also plays club ball.  He is a midfielder who is a tenacious leader on the field, and he has a great understanding of the game.”
