Four Bears Honored On All-Conference Teams
Friday night in Joplin, MO the MCCC announced the recipients of the 2012-13 all-conference teams, among them were two members from Lady Bears squad and two members from the men’s team.
On the ladies side, Sophomore Jamie Larsh from Haviland, KS earned 2nd team all-conference recognition while Senior Kaylee Miller from Great Bend, KS was named all-conference honorable mention.
Larsh is a sharp-shooter who broke the school record for most made three pointers in a game (9). Miller, a defensive specialist and team leader, did a lot of the intangibles as the Bears locked up a third place finish during the MCCC regular season.
The men’s basketball team landed two of its players on the first team following an 8-2 run through the conference. Senior Toney Hatton from Irving, TX and Sophomore Charles Brodhead from Lompoc, CA were awarded plaques from the conference during a presentation prior to their semi-final match-up with Ozark.
Hatton shot a blistering 60% from the field as he averaged 18 points and 5 rebounds on the season playing the power forward position while Brodhead averaged 19 points and 7 rebounds playing the small forward position.
