Huntsville Soccer Recruit Chooses Bears

Last Week Barclay College received word that midfielder John Forrest Turner would be playing soccer for the Bears this coming Fall.  Turner is currently a senior at Huntsville High School where he plays and is also a member of the 93 Huntsville Eclipse.

Head Coach Kevin Lee and Assistant Coach Steve Davis recently traveled south to watch Turner in person. Coach Lee commented, “Forrest is a midfielder with wheels, good passing skills, and solid defense. With such a humble and engaging attitude, a strong academic performance, and solid soccer playing experience, Forrest will be a great addition to Barclay and the soccer program.“

He is the son of Michael and Monica Turner, the 2012 scholar athlete of the year at Huntsville High, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

“All student athletes should be helpful in all aspects of education and athletic experiences to help in the development of future student athletes. We should be the bookends to keep all others from falling and be solid and supportive at all times,” said Turner.
