The Barclay Lady Bears are pleased to announce that Kyla Powell will be playing basketball for BC during the 2013-14 season. Powell is from Huntsville, AL and played her senior year at Westminster Christian Academy.

During her senior year she averaged 7.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals a game. Powell was very active off the basketball court as well. She was a member of the Beta Club, Diamond Dolls, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is also a dedicated student as she qualified for the A/B Honor Roll. Her parents are Larkin and Latarsha Ison.

“I am excited to have Kyla joining us for next year”, said Head Coach Brad Lingafelter. “Kyla will fit in well with the girls and what we are continuing to build here at Barclay College. Kyla showed that she has the ability to shoot the ball and I feel she has a good chance to become a solid all-around contributor her freshman year.”
