Lady Bears Come Up Short in Texas

On November 22nd and 23rd, The Lady Bears traveled to Texas where they faced NCCAA Division II Southwest Region opponents Dallas Christian College and Arlington Baptist College.

The Lady Bears opened up against Dallas Christian Friday night. Getting off to a slow start, they spotted the Crusaders a 25-9 lead. On a couple of different occasions, the Bears crept back within 10 points only to go through stretches of sloppy play that ultimately led to Dallas Christian pulling away for a 71-49 victory. Freshman Mercedeez Bell led the Bears with 15 points and Senior Sarah Sullivan contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds.

On Saturday the Lady Bears then went up against Arlington Baptist. Arlington is considered, by some, as one of the top picks to contend for the National Championship this year. The Patriots certainly lived up to the hype as they applied relentless pressure and tremendous 3 point shooting to race past the Bears 73-43. Sullivan continued her strong play with 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Freshman Emilly Entz came off the bench to add 8 points and 8 rebounds.

The Lady Bears next play at Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, KS) on Tuesday, December 3rd at 5:00 PM CST.
