Nine Receive MCCC Soccer Recognition

In conjunction with the Midwest Christian College Conference Soccer Tournament held October 23-25, the MCCC also recognized both individual and team awards at a banquet during the tournament. In addition to the MCCC regular season championship, nine other Barclay College student/athletes received well-deserved recognition.

Most notably, the MCCC Most Valuable Player was awarded to Barclay College’s Junior Kingsley Assibey (Accra, Ghana). Assibey currently has 13 goals and 7 assists on the 2014 season. In addition to Assibey on the First Team, Sophomore Melvin Lara (Katy, TX), Freshmen Julio Cobo (Katy, TX) and Joshua Moore (Houston, TX) were also named to the team. Sophomore Pedro Chavez (Lakin, KS), Freshmen Isaiah Shine (Houston, TX), Joshaua Hernandez (Houston, TX), and David Hernandez (Atascadero, CA) were all named to the Second Team. Freshman Tyler Wright (Mulvane, KS) was Honorable Mention.
