Walker Named NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week

For his performance last week at the Midwest Christian College Conference tournament, sophomore Quinton Walker was named the National Christian College Athletics Association Division II Student-Athlete of the week. Each student-athlete is nominated by his/her respective institution and exemplifies the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA.

Walker propelled the Bears into the MCCC tournament championship game last week. The Paris, Texas native went 24-of-39 (61.5%) from the field, scoring 21 points and grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game in the tournament. He helped ignite the Bears offense in games against Ozark Christian College (Joplin, Mo.) in the quarterfinals and Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa) in the semifinals. In the championship game, Walker had 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists to give NCCAA DII #2 Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, Kans.) a scare, but Manhattan was still able to secure the championship 103-89.
