BC Womens Basketball Gets a Boomer Sooner

Mercedeez Bell, from Woodward High School (Woodward, OK), is the second new commit to the Lady Bears for the Fall 2013 Semester. Bell played for Coach Pat Hawkins and the Lady Boomers over the past four years. She is a 5’11 forward who averaged 10.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block a game while being named to multiple all-tournament teams as well as being recognized as an All-Region player.

“She has great instincts for moving around the court and she is a very good athlete for her size. Mercedeez can score on the block and she can step out and make you guard her on the perimeter. Defensively, she has great instincts and she is very long which will work well for what we try and do,” commented Head Coach Brad Lingafelter. “Plus, she is a great girl with a very sweet personality.”

Bell was a Principal’s Honor Roll recipient and was a member of the Pep Club, Sub Debs, and Team Justin. She is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Bell.

“I am ecstatic to have Mercedeez join the Lady Bears. She was very meticulous about what she wanted and took her time to make sure that Barclay was a good fit for her. Her parents were a great source of wisdom for her as she navigated the recruiting process,” said Lingafelter.
