Kiowa Countys Davis Chooses Barclay

Caleb Davis, a three-sport athlete from 2A Kiowa County High School in Greensburg, KS, decided to stay close to home and start his collegiate career at Barclay College following his graduation from KCHS in May.

After Davis signed his letter of intent to play men’s basketball in the Fall semester, he stated, “I am just pretty excited for the college experience here at Barclay.”

Davis is a 5’10” shooting guard who averaged 12.2 points, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists during his high school career. This last season he helped pace the Mavericks to a 12-9 record while being named to the Keady Classic All-Tournament Team, 1st team All-League, and Wichita Eagle Class 2A Honorable Mention.

BC Head Coach Royce Bryan said, “Even though there is a strong possibility we might only have Caleb for a year or two because of his chosen major, he is well worth it. Anytime you can get a young man of his character to come be a part of your program, it is a no-brainer. He will make us better both on and off the court.”

Davis plans to major in Aviation. He is the oldest son of Steve and Marlieta Davis, both Barclay College alum. Steve played for the Bears from 1984-88 and is second on the all-time scoring list with 1840 points.
