Bears Basketball Adds Depth for 2012-13

The 2012-13 Barclay Bears Men’s Basketball team began practice on October 1st. This year’s roster includes a balanced mixture of returners and new players and has the potential to be a memorable year.

“I am excited about the potential that this team has both on and off the court,” said third year Head Coach Royce Bryan. “From a basketball standpoint, we could potentially play the whole bench every night. It means our practices have been and hopefully will continue to be very competitive. Most importantly, however, is the opportunity these guys have to grow in their relationship with Jesus and develop a lifestyle consistent with His way.”

The Bears return nine players from previous seasons including Seniors Toney Hatton (Irving, TX) and Shane Brown (Haviland, KS), Junior Austin Ogle (Hutchinson, KS), Junior Aaron Taylor (Palm Bay, FL), Junior Austin Zamarippa (Great Bend, KS), Sophomore Spencer Huiatt (Hydro, OK), Sophomore Tanner Stevens (Haviland, KS) and 2011-12 All-Conference selections Sophomore Charles Brodhead (Lompoc, CA) and Sophomore Brandon Howarth (Dodge City, KS). Newcomers are Sophomore Tommy Leach (Derby, KS), Freshman Caleb Stagner-Hundley (Savannah, MO), Freshman Titus Gwess (Wichita, KS), Freshman Joseph Sullivan (San Antonio, TX), Freshman Dalton Racster-Hall (Great Falls, MT), and Junior Pilo Miranda-Troup (Arvada, CO).
