Bears Soccer Comes Up Short in Southwest Regional
Moore, OK – On Friday, October 26th the Barclay College Bears Soccer team squared off with Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO) for the second time this season. This time it was an NCCAA Southwest Region semi-final match and chance to move one step closer to a trip to the NCCAA National Championship in Florida.
On a cold, windy afternoon, the Bears were bound and determined to find a way to come out on top this time around. Midway into the first half Ozark scored first but the Bears answered shortly after when Junior Pilo Miranda-Troup (Denver, CO) sent a corner kick in for a powerful header into the upper 90 by Senior Rusty Eadie (Manton, MI). With the score 1-1 at the half, Ozark once again struck first in the second half and then added a final goal off an indirect kick just outside the 18 yard line to win 3-1.
The Bears (8-9-1, 3-3) will now head to the ACCA National Tournament in Joplin, MO. They will play Emmaus Bible College (Dubuque, IA) at 2:00 PM CST on Thursday, November 1.
