Bears Soccer Ranked #7 in NCCAA DII

Yesterday the NCCAA announced their weekly top ten national rankings and the Bears climbed into the poles for the first time in over a decade. The Bears jumped all the way to #8 in the NCCAA Division II soccer rankings after starting the season out 6-1, including an upset win over previously ranked #7 Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO) this past weekend.

The Bears lone loss on the season came in a close one on the road against NAIA Southwestern College but have piled up impressive victories over Ozark Christian College, Hillsdale Free Will Baptist (Moore, OK), Grace University (Omaha, NE), Dallas Christian College (Dallas, TX), Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, IA) and Calvary Bible College (Belton, MO).

Head Coach Kevin Lee stated, “I am proud of the guys, and glad to be considered as one of the top 10 teams in the nation in our division.  We are honored, and give the glory to God!  It has been more than a decade that Barclay has been in this position, and it is an indicator that we are heading in the right direction.  Our goal now is to keep pushing forward, to not be satisfied, and to continue working on building a team of champions.”

This Saturday the Bears will be back on the home pitch to face MCCC opponent St. Louis Christian College. It is a 2:00 PM CST scheduled start.

Update: Despite a loss, the Bears have moved to rank #7.
