BC Volleyball Drops First Home Game

Friday evening the Lady Bears played their first match at Hockett Auditorium in Haviland, KS. The Warriors of Calvary Bible College (Belton, MO) were in town as the two opened up MCCC play as well.

In front of a packed crowd, the Bears roared out of the gates to take the first set 25-13. The second set started in same fashion for the Bears as they carried a five point lead late in the set only to see the Warriors climb back and take the set 25-23. Losing the second set in such fashion took the wind right out of their sail, while the Warriors’ momentum helped them withstand a couple rallies from the Bears to win the final two sets 25-16, 25-16.

Statistically, Sophomore RaeLyn Epp led the Bears with ten digs, Junior Morgan Stander had four aces, and Seniors Sarah Sullivan and Hannah Williams combined for 23 kills.

The Bears (0-2, 0-1) will host Hillsdale Freewill Baptist (Moore, OK) on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:00PM CST in a NCCAA Southwest Region match.
