California Recruit Commits to BC Soccer

Over spring break, the Barclay College Men’s Soccer program added yet another recruit to the growing Bears 2014 recruiting class. David Hernandez, the son of Javier and Karen Hernandez, has signed a letter of intent to attend Barclay College in the fall.

Hernandez is from Atascadero, CA and has been a starting varsity goalkeeper there since his sophomore year. He was voted MVP for his team last year as well as Goalkeeper of the Year. He was also named 1st Team All-League, which was the third time he has earned the honor.

Considering the Bears All-American keeper, Austin Ogle, completed his eligibility and they are also without a back-up keeper, the signing of Hernandez couldn’t have come at a better time according to Head Coach Kevin Lee. “We are encouraged about how the team is beginning to take shape.”
