Lady Bears Fall Short

Haviland, KS – On Friday, Nov. 30th  the Lady Bears Women’s Basketball team had a rematch with NCCAA DII top ten Grace University. Then the following night they took on the Crusaders of Dallas Christian.

The Lady Bears were neck and neck with Grace for most of the first half thanks to their efforts on the glass before the Lady Royals went on a run to take a 36-22 lead into the half. In the second half, the Royals shot a sizzling 53% from the field to win 73-50. The Lady Bears were led by Freshman Shandy Edenborough with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Senior Kaylee Miller with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Saturday afternoon found the Bears in control for a large portion of the game against Dallas Christian. In the closing minutes, however, the Crusaders were able to make a few more plays to squeak out a 44-43 road win. Edenborough secured an amazing 21 rebounds on the night and chipped in 19 points to boot while Sophomore Jamie Larsh added 16 points.

The Bears fall to 1-5 on the season and will play Oklahoma Wesleyan University Sat. Dec. 8th at 2:00 PM CST to close out their games for the fall semester.
