Lady Bears fall to Nationally Ranked Hillsdale

On Tuesday the Lady Bears went to play #3 ranked Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, OK.

The Lady Bears came out and played right with the Lady Saints. Great offensive execution and aggressive defense kept the game close. The Lady Saints went on a run in the middle of the first half to open up a cushion that they took to the locker room, 36-22. The Lady Bears came out flat to start the 2nd half and allowed the Lady Saints to get ahead by as many as 24 points. After that Barclay hit stride again and played really well to cut the lead down to twelve points at one point. Barclay, however, was unable to get any closer and lost to the Lady Saints 68-50.

“First and foremost, Hillsdale is a good basketball team,” commented Head Coach Brad Lingafelter. “Well coached, aggressive and very tall. At the same time, our offensive execution was great. We got really great looks all night. We have these bad droughts in which we cannot get the ball in the basket. We also do too many little things that begin to add up over the course of the game that really puts us in a hole. You cannot do that at this level. We will get it fixed.”

The Bears (4-10, 3-2) are back in MCCC play when they host Central Christian College of the Bible on January 26th at1:00 PM CST for homecoming.
