NCCAA Southwest Region Tightens Up for Bears

Tuesday, January 22nd the Bears were on the road again, this time in Moore, OK to face region opponent Hillsdale Free Will Baptist. Even though the Bears defeated the Saints by double digits the first time around, this time it was the Saints who defended home turf.

 

The game was back and forth throughout with many lead changes and ties. With a ton of fouls called in the first half, both teams were forced to the bench and then heading into the half it was the Saints who converted a deep three to give them a three point advantage heading into the break. Early in the second half the Bears built lead after lead but the Saints came pulling back even. In the final four minutes, the Saints made more plays to beat the Bears 89-83.

 

Sophomore Charles Brodhead led the Bears with 26 points and 9 rebounds, Freshman Titus Gwess added 16 points and 7 rebound, and Senior Toney Hatton chipped in 15 points while Sophomore Spencer Huiatt dished out 9 assists.

 

The Bears (10-4, 4-1) are back in MCCC play when they host St.  Louis Christian on Friday, January 25th at 7:30 PM CST and then Central Christian College of the Bible on Saturday at 3:00 for homecoming.
