We are excited that Alyssa Swonger has chosen to attend Barclay College.  Coach Lewis believes that there is very good volleyball talent in our local area and he is hoping that this is just the beginning of more homegrown recruits coming to Barclay.  Alyssa attended Pratt Skyline High School, where she had the opportunity to compete at the state tournament 3 of her 4 years.  Alyssa is 6’ tall and played right side and middle for her high school and club team (Wichita Chaos).  Her junior year, she was all-league, and her senior year, she was a unanimous selection for all league.  During her senior season, she was the best blocker, hitter and passer on her team.  Alyssa chose Barclay, because it is close to family, a wonderful environment, and she felt it was her best option.  Coach Lewis said, “Alyssa is a game changer!  It’s been quite a while since Barclay has had the height it will have this season.  She has worked hard to improve her overall game, and is now able to play the full rotation.”
